Design Inspiration
The basis of my design process includes the emphasis on color, texture and shape. Music, nature, history, textile science, urban culture and architecture serve as a main source of inspiration within my work.
The main focus of the design process incorporates all of these elements, however, experimentation contributes to the development of new processes that allows for the modernization of traditional textile techniques.
Through my natural curiosity for working with non-traditional materials, i continue to develop, design, and produce textiles and garments that are unique, functional/practical, and which express my desire for individuality as well as that of others.
I feel due to the mass production of garments and textiles today that we need to rediscover or reinvent already existing materials in order to maintain a sense of awareness, appreciation, and most importantly our individuality.
